About Project BRZ

I started this site as I found myself cataloguing hundreds of photos, writing and keeping a log of everything I did with the car. For those who ask why I bought this car to begin with... all I can say is I'm a huge Toyota / Subaru and Initial D fan.

Ever since my first track day in 2019, I've never looked back and constantly think of taking this car out to the local track road course. On this site, I'll share my experiences in building up the car and my journey in becoming a better driver.

Special Thanks

This car was really good when I drove it off the dealership lot in 2015 but it's become something really special because of the following people and shops.

  • Peter welcomed me into the YEG86 club about 2 weeks after I bought the car. Provided guidance, wisdom and got me going with mods. A real computer geek just like me, super happy to have met him and to become friends

  • Invision Motorsports - Gerald runs a great shop and is super helpful. Him, Peter and Herb (yes there's another Herb!) did my first set of mods and really got me going down the right path.

  • Legendary Tech Chris; you can't find another individual who is super passionate about BRZs. Best mechanic I've crossed paths with, hands down. Met him at Subaru and followed him to First Gear. He exceeds expectations every time and no one is going to work on the car other than him moving forward.

  • First Gear - Leo and his team are absolutely amazing. The majority of the JDM parts in the car are through Leo. His attention to detail, customer service, knowledge and understanding of the goals for my car are second to none.
